Rav Carlotti: World Traveler and Bron Imaging Intern
Print This Post
Rav Carlotti, ranked as one of the top 3000 most traveled persons on Earth. Backpacking over 12,336 miles overland across large portions of the Amazon jungle in South America the Middle East and then onto Africa clocking in at over 50,007 miles altogether. Summiting Mt. Cotopaxi, Ecuador’s second highest peak and hiking the Andes alone, crossing the Salar de Uyuni salt flats, the driest desert on the planet, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, hanging with the silverbacks in Rwanda, living with three different tribes, swimming with the great whites, eating insects that he’d never seen before and yes drinking his own urine.

What was the next major challenge for Rav Carlotti? Why a Bron Imaging Group internship of course.
Rav was referred to Bron Imaging Group by his FIT Professor Curtis Willocks. “He said that Bron was looking for some interns to help out during the 2009 photo expo. At skyline studios. Me being new to the city and the photo world I jumped at that opportunity to try to get a foot in the door.” Typical of Ravs style he was the first one on location, because of this I assigned him to work with Playboy photographer David Mecey. http://www.davidmecey.com/
“I think you were happy with the work I did because you had asked me back to help out at the Scheimflug/Bron Imaging Group Halloween party a week later. You told me that the guys at Scheimflug could be the gateway to the photo world for me.”

I helped set up for the party. When people started arriving I found myself with nothing to do and that really bothered me because I didn’t want to let this opportunity pass me up. Fortunately for me one of the bartenders never showed up so I decided to take her spot. I stayed and helped bartend till about 2:00AM when the party stopped and people started to leave. I then started cleaning up and you came over and said “great job tonight thank you, you can go home.” and I said “Are you sure I can still help.” and you said “no its fine go, expletive deleted, home you did a great job.”
At about 4 am Scheimpflugs general manager and the owner came over to me they asked “Who the ,expletive deleted told you to sweep the floor and who are you?” I said, “no one told me to and I was here interning with Bron my name is Rav.” That’s when the GM pulled out his card and said “That’s what I’m looking for in an employee someone who will stay till 4:00AM and sweep the floor when no one tells him too. If you need a job call me next week.” I knew then that my work that night paid off.”
“From that day I have worked there every just about every chance I can when I’m not in school or doing homework. Thank you for this because if it was not for you and your help I would never have gotten this job and now that I am working for Flug my opportunities are endless and I am learning a lot and meeting so many people. The sky’s the limit!”
Rav continues to study at FIT, over the summer he’ll intern with Magnum Photographer Steve McCurry.
Bron Imaging currently has a limited amount of internship positions open. If your interested please email us at education@bronimaging.com
